U12s WIN TODAY 2-1 vs MONASH UNI Monash had 14 players, and we had 10 and at one stage 9 due to injury. Their team was made up of some really big boys. Our team ran so hard and played for each other and what appeared their lives. Kairus started the first goal by passing to Joseph who then passed to Ben and then Sally. Sally had a shot on goal that bounced off the goalie back to her, where she did a slap hit to the side of the goalie. Her first goal in hockey. Well done Sally!! This was down to all the training she did over the school holidays!! She was there in the rain every Wednesday. The second goal was from Ben who did a flick into the top of the net. What a goal! (2-0 at half time) Monash had some very skilled players and were fresher in the second half. Monash scored in the first 5 minutes of the second. We had another 3 shots on goal with Ben hitting one just above the back board that did not count. An inch lower and it would have been a goal. It was a great team win. I think the whole team should be very proud of themselves. They worked so hard for each other and run themselves silly. The Monash coach commented that they thought our team played really well and it was played in the right spirit. Congratulations!
