U16 Premier Division: Ballymackey 3-3 Nenagh AFC. A tense but thrilling encounter at Ballinree saw 6 goals, a sending off and 2 comebacks. Nenagh went 2-0 up in the 1st half, Barry Coffey tapping in from close range at the back post after Eoghan Tinklers flying save to his left rebounded to his feet and Daniel Burke with the other. Ballymackey stormed back and Gearoid Murphy scored with a piece of individual brilliance. It was 2-1 at half time but early in the 2nd half, the Nenagh goalkeeper pulled Tommy Teer down in the box and was sent off for a second bookable offence. Teer easily slotted past the substitute goalkeeper to make it 2-2. Nenagh fought back and made it 3-2 but with 10 minutes to go, Alan Ryan went up front and scored the equaliser with a great header from close range. Ballymackeys Fionn Ryan was superb throughout, Richard Baranya did well at full back and Eoghan Tinkler, whose eye was badly injured in the warm-up, kept out his former club at key moments, especially when one-on-one with Barry Coffey mid-way through the 2nd half. The team is only going to improve and we will watch their progress with great interest.
