U2, Bank of America and (RED) Make Invisible Free on Super Bowl Sunday Posted: January 23, 2014 By: Matt McGee U2s new song, Invisible will be released on February 2nd -- Super Bowl Sunday -- as part of a fund raising project with (RED) and Bank of America. The song will be featured in a commercial during the Super Bowl, and offered as a free download on iTunes for 24 hours following the game. For every download, Bank of America will donate $1 to (RED) to help fight AIDS -- up to a total of $2 million. More details about the partnership can be found at red.bankofamerica and via the official news release. This confirms most of what weve previously reported about that Santa Monica video shoot that U2 did a couple weeks ago. Whats unknown, and what may have changed between then and now, is whether the band will also make some kind of album-related announcement in conjunction with the new song. UPDATE: U2 has a few extra details about whats going on. Namely that Invisible is produced by Danger Mouse and mixed by Tom Elmhirst, and that the Super Bowl comercials includes performance footage from a forthcoming video directed by Mark Romanek. (Romanek also directed the iPod commercial that featured U2s Vertigo.)
