UBUNTU Community Hall Opens With A Music Bash Even a year ago, I could never have imagined the overwhelming support from the people in our little town of Waterval Boven, in laying the foundations for the first contributionist community. As I write this article, there are several community projects either on the go, or in the final stages of initiating. The community kitchen is cooking delicious food every day fro the volunteers and the gym is almost ready for action. More people speak to us every day and pledge their support - sign up for community participation and so it grows. From a deeply divided town of around 5 thousand people only one year ago, there is a real rise in optimism and unity amongst the people who feel that something positive is taking place in our town. This weekend Friday 16 Jan 2015 - we are hosting our first musical event with a performance by famous South African activist/poet and singer Ntsiki Mazwai and her band. This will be followed by a talent competition for most of Saturday to allow talents members of our community to display their abilities. Ntsiki and her band will be the judges which will bring much inspiration for the participants. There will also be a performance by Nelspruit based jazz musician Princess Nkuna. I am very happy that we have such a strong feminine presence at our official launch. ubuntuparty.org.za/2015/01/ntsiki-mazwai-performs-at-opening-of.html
