UC Davis - American Studies Program - Interdisciplinary Research expertise in Transnational American Studies The American Studies Program at the University of California, Davis invites applicants for an Assistant Professor position, with interdisciplinary research expertise in transnational American studies. We expect applicants to link the United States to other parts of the world through analyses of the histories and contemporary legacies of empire and nationalism, especially through critical studies of settler colonialism, geographies of migration, and/or border studies. The appointee will have a strong research plan and demonstrate exceptional promise as a scholar and teacher. A PhD in American Studies or a related interdisciplinary field must be completed by the first day of courses in September 2015. The successful candidate will be able to teach large and small undergraduate classes in the American Studies core curriculum, create new classes in areas of expertise, and contribute graduate seminars and other forms of service to the PhD granting Graduate Group in Cultural Studies.
