UDCs KAGISO CALVIN THUTLWE FOR GABORONE CENTRAL VILLAGE WARD!!! PERSONAL PROFILE; INTRODUCTION; Kagiso Calvin Thutlwe was born in 05-08-1984 as the first born of a family of two kids mother Kgadimo Neo Thutlwe and Monnathebe Meshack Thutlwe. EDUCATION; -Did his primary school at Mokibe memorial school in Shoshong and graduated in 1998 with a first class. He then proceeded to Zwenshambe Junior secondary school in 1999-2001 for lower secondary. From 2002-2003 Kagiso attended his senior school at Naledi senior school and obtained 39points. - He later enrolled with the University of Botswana and read for a Bachelor of Humanities in English and Environmental science which he obtained in 2009. LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE; -Kagiso has had wide experience in leadership position, He served as the University of Botswana Student Representative Council President(SRC President) from 2008 to 2009. -During his tenure as the SRC President,he advocated for numerous student welfare issues such as ensuring students parcels,themselves are given the necessary security. Kagiso was later suspended from school for leading a students strike that advocated for allowance increment,on which the suspension was later reversed. -The candidate upon completion of his studies at the University of Botswana,represented the then Botswana National Front( BNF) in the 2009 general elections for the Gaborone Central parliamentary seat which he lost to the incumbent MP,Dumelang Saleshando of the BCP. - Kagiso Calvin Thutlwe is the current Botswana National Front Youth League(BNF-YL) Vice President and Umbrella for Democratic Change(UDC),council candidate for Village ward. DELIVARABLES/MISSION; -Encourage and lead self reliance initiatives to avert over dependence on the government. -Advocate for establishment of trading areas for small stock traders(commonly referred to as basadi ba ba rekisang) -Bring together the business community in the ward so they come into the fold to help out in the development of the area. This includes holding business workshops and seminars for small business owners in the ward. - Play a pivoted role on advocating for the resolution of issues and problems that emanate from the University of Botswana and are a detriment to students learning. - Advocate for the erection of roads, clinics and shelters for the less fortunate in the ward. -Bridge the culture of seclusion,segregation and individuality between the army barracks and the general public by promoting a social environment that brings together residents.
