UFC has another four events lined up for April, including their debut in Quebec City. Here’s a look at all the action that’s on tap for the month ahead and a couple key bouts from each card that you should not miss. UFC Fight Night: Nogueira vs. Nelson (Friday, April 11) This rare Friday night event is available only on UFC Fight Pass, the company’s recently launched, subscription-based digital service, and takes place in Abu Dhabi, marking the first time the UFC has returned to the United Arab Emirates since Anderson Silva danced around against Demian Maia at UFC 112. Headlined by a heavyweight tilt between veterans Minotauro Nogueira and Roy Nelson, the most intriguing about of the night is the co-main event, which pits Clay Guida against Japanese star Tatsuya Kawajiri, who looked good in his debut but needs a win over an established name like Guida to prove he’s a contender in the featherweight ranks. The Ultimate Fighter: Nations Finale (Wednesday, April 16) Loaded with Canadian talent and serving as the lead-in for the new season of The Ultimate Fighter, this Wednesday night offering features a main event grudge match between Michael “The Count” Bisping and Tim Kennedy that will elevate the winner into the title picture in the middleweight division. There are already six Canadians scheduled to compete on the card — including Victoria’s Sarah Kaufman — and more could be added next week once the final TUF pairings are unveiled. UFC on FOX: Werdum vs. Browne (Saturday, April 19) There are a ton of great fights on this card, including a heavyweight No. 1 contender bout between Fabricio Werdum and Travis Browne, but the two that really stand out for me are a pair of lightweight matchups. In one, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone faces off with Edson Barboza in what should be a brutal (in a good way) kick-boxing battle, while in the other, Rafael dos Anjos and Khabib Nurmagomedov battle for a place at the top of the list of potential title contenders. Canada is represented on this card by the return of Jordan Mein, who takes on newcomer Hernani Perpetuo. UFC 172: Jones vs. Teixeira (Saturday, April 27) If I had to pick one word to describe UFC 172, it would be stacked. This card is so loaded, Jake Ellenberger and Joseph Benavidez are fighting on the prelims. While the aforementioned main event is great, the return of Anthony “Rumble” Johnson against forgotten contender Phil Davis and the featherweight matchup between Max Holloway and Andre Fili intrigue me most. The winner of the former will be in the title chase in the 205-pound division, while whoever emerges from the latter will position themselves as the top emerging talented in the 145-pound ranks. theprovince/sports/Keyboard+Kimura+Busy+month+ahead/9671118/story.html
