See information below: - 2 courses to choose from (San Diego or Chicago) - 3 credits each - Work on marketing, sales, communications, customer relations, sponsorship and other projects for such clients as Blackhawks, Padres, CR Kernels and others - Network with sport industry executives - San Diego Practicum dates June 1-26 (approx) - Chicago Practicum dates June 26-July 20 (approx) - Limited class sizes - must apply by FEBRUARY 20 with cover letter/resume just like an internship or job - Submit letter/resume to Dan Matheson via email ([email protected]). Your letter should: 1) Identify which Practicum you wish to be considered for (if you are interested in either then identify your first choice), 2) Explain why you wish to take the course, 3) Explain what you can offer in terms of experience, expertise, relevant course work, work ethic and/or any other qualities that you believe will contribute to success in the course. Desirable qualities for these experiences include strong communication skills (public speaking/presentation/writing/editing), tireless work ethic, unyielding attention to detail, ability to work effectively with teammates, dependability, maturity, creativity and an interest in performing market research - GPA and coursework may be reviewed and taken into consideration - Finalists may be asked to interview for a seat in the course - Course fees apply (approx $2350 in San Diego and $1450 in Chicago) - JOURNALISM STUDENTS ENCOURAGED TO APPLY for Chicago!
