UK Trade and Investment News: George Freeman,MP will be in Manila on 17 – 18 June to boost trade and investment relations between the UK and the Philippines. Mr. Freeman is the first ever Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy for the Philippines. He is one of only 14 envoys appointed by British Prime Minister David Cameron to selected high-growth and developing markets, demonstrating the UK’s strong confidence in the growth of the Philippine economy and its intent to partner with the Philippines in deepening commercial ties. During his visit, Mr. Freeman will meet with high-level government officials, local business leaders and the British business community. He will also formally open the British Business Centre, located in the Bonifacio Global City area of Metro Manila. The Centre, run by the British Chamber of Commerce Philippines (BCCP), will provide high quality services to assist British firms seeking to do business in the Philippines. Mr Freeman will be leading a trade mission composed of energy companies.
