UK-based Pakistani Boxer Amir Khan who retains WBC Silver Welterweight title meets Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif yesterday. Amir appreciated Punjab Youth festival, the biggest of its kind, in which a number of international records were set. He said that Pakistan is blessed with great talent regarding sports, and youth festival proved highly beneficial in bringing out the hidden talent of youth. He also praised CM for setting up new sports grounds and state-of-the-art sports centers in Punjab. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif congratulated Amir Khan on becoming champion of Silverlight Welterweight Category of World Boxing Council. CM offered Amir Khan to coach Pakistani boxers in boxing academy being set up at Sports Complex Ferozpur Road. Amir Khan gladly accepted CMs offer and said that the CM is doing positive work for the promotion of sports in Punjab and he is willing to impart training of international standard to Pakistani boxers.
