UKRAINE POLL ++++++++++++++ Poroshenko casts his vote for a new parliament and a break from the countrys Soviet past. These are the first elections since last winters protests in capital Kiev. Sundays elections are likely to install a pro-Western parliament - giving Poroshenko a mandate to pursue a path of pro-European reforms -- in what could further strain ties with Russia. Mr Poroshenko thanked voters for supporting a reform. However, about 3m people in two eastern regions did not vote. Pro-Russian separatists in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions also plan to hold their own polls next month. Another 1.8 million people in Crimea, annexed by Russia in March, also did not take part.
