UN honours Aaranyak with prestigious Global Award! newsroom.unfccc.int/clean-energy/2014-momentum-for-change-lighthouse-activities/ Aaranyak in partnership with the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) has won the prestigious ‘2014 Lighthouse Activity Award’ announced on today by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) at Bonn, Germany for its successful implementation of the Community Based Flood Early Warning System (CBFEWS) in the Lakhimpur and Dhemaji Districts of Assam. “The Lighthouse Activities selected by the United Nations Climate Change Secretariat under its ‘Momentum for Change’ Initiative from all over the world are inspiring and transformational mitigation and adaptation activities. Representatives of ICIMOD, Aaranyak and DDMAs have been invited to receive the award in Lima, Peru on 11th December during the COP-20(United National Climate Change Conference) which will be held this year in Lima from December 1 to 14, 2014.
