The news of the sudden death of Mr. Komla Dumor, a one time Ghanaian BBC news presenter came to everyone as a shock. This man died suddenly at his home in London at the age of 41. The shocking news is not about his death, because everyone is bound to die one day. Death is a necessary end for all mortals. But the fact that he died suddenly and unexpectedly informed the line of today’s thought. Nobody knows when, where and how he would die. Hence, there is a need for you to prepare: live, serve and do everything as if today is your last. The question is: if today is your last, what would you do differently? What would you correct before it is too late? What must you drop off before death comes? One of the things you must drop is unforgiveness. I mean holding those who offended you in your heart. This is dangerous! If death catches up with you in this state, it will not only stop you from entering paradise, it would also rubbish everything you think you have done for God. According to today’s text, Jesus was actually directing His curse to those who have conceived evil; those habouring malice; unforgiveness in their minds and those holding certain people in their heart they never want to release in forgiveness. If you die with malice, secret anger or unforgiveness against any man or woman, would that not bring eternal separation between you and God? Oh! Nobody is worth keeping in your heart. Forgive all offences against you; let go and let God. Whatever you have done for self alone dies with you, but what you have done for others and the world remains and is immortal. Pursue holiness with everything you have, this is the only condition on which you will see God. Whatever has been difficult for you will become easy. Receive grace to do that which is right before God. Your life will be decorated with blessings in Jesus name. Have a blissful day!
