UNHRC: Agenda II Human Rights Violations in North America with a special focus on the Guantanamo Bay Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, a military base converted into a detention centre, is an American safe-haven to arbitrarily withhold and torture suspected terrorists who have havent faced a free and fair trial. Disregarding the fundamentals of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the States are reported to have used interrogation techniques targeting the emotional and physiological weaknesses of the prisoners, apart from the physical trauma caused to them. Efforts by the President Obama have received international appreciation but it is quite uncertain as to when actions will actually be taken. The North American states of El Salvador, Honduras and Dominican Republic have been accounted on various counts of homicide and human trafficking as result of well-established drug cartels, and corrupt governments. Delegates must explore the various issues surrounding these inhuman activities; resolving them to unveil the Guantanamo crimes of USA, consequently establishing regard for the human race.
