UNIJOS lecturers join ASUU strike. The Chairman of the University of Jos chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Dr. David Jankam, has endorsed the strike embarked upon by the national body of the association. Public universities had embarked on strike on Monday over issues relating to the agreement reached with the Federal Government. Jankam, who spoke at a meeting held at the ASUU Secretariat in Jos on Tuesday, said that after reviewing the situation, the chapter had no option than to align itself with the decision of its national body, pledging to cooperate fully to make the strike effective. The chairman faulted the Federal Government for reneging on the various aspects of the agreement which, he said, left the union with no option than to proceed on an indefinite strike. He solicited the support of members for the strike which he said should be total and comprehensive. -THE PUNCH NEWS
