UNION COUNTY UNDER WINTER STORM WARNING There is a strong possibility that snow and freezing and below freezing temperatures will be part of Union County’s weather on Tuesday and Wednesday. The National Weather Service has placed Union County under a Winter Storm Warning and its forecast for the county includes the possibility of snow on Tuesday and even into Wednesday morning. For Tuesday, the weather service forecasts an 80 percent chance of snow, mainly after 1 p.m., with temperatures reaching a high of nearly 32 degrees. There will be a northeast wind of 9-13 miles per hour with gusts as high as 21 miles per hour. The forecast states that snow accumulation of approximately one inch is possible. Nighttime Tuesday will bring the likelihood of further accumulation with a 70 percent chance of snow, mainly before 1 a.m. It will be cloudy with temperatures falling to a low of around 22 degrees. There will be a north-northeast wind of around 8 miles per hour. Accumulation of one to two inches is a possibility. There will be a slight chance of snow before 8 a.m. Wednesday with the day starting out cloudy, then becoming mostly sunny with a high near 36 degrees. The north-northeast wind will be 5-7 miles per hour becoming calm in the afternoon. Wednesday night will be mostly clear but very cold with a low of around 17 degrees.
