ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR i) PhD in the relevant field from an HEC recognized University/Institution. ii) 10 Years Teaching/Research Experience in an HEC recognized University or a Post-Graduate Institution or Professional Experience in the relevant field in a National or International Organization. iii)The Applicant must have 10 Research Publications in Journals recognized by the HEC or BASR, University of Karachi. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR PhD in the relevant field from an HEC recognized University/ Institution. No Experience required. OR Masters Degree (Foreign) or M.Phil or Equivalent Degree awarded after 18 Years of Education in the relevant field. 4 Years Teaching/Research or Professional Experience in a recognized University or Postgraduate Institution in the relevant field in a National or International Organization. OR Masters Degree (First Class) in the subject with No 3rd Division in the Academic Career from an HEC recognized University/ Institution with 6-Years Teaching/Research or Professional Experience in a recognized University or Post Graduate Institution or National or International Organization. LECTURER First Class Masters Degree or Equivalent Degree awarded after 16 Years of Education in the subject from an HEC recognized University/Institution with No 3rd Division in the Academic Career. Condition of No 3rd Division shall not be applicable in the qualification of appointment as Lecturer in Universities or Degree Awarding Institutions provided that the Candidate holds a Higher Degree viz M.Phil/PhD or Equivalent Degree with not more than One 3rd Division in the entire Academic Career. Furthermore, the Candidate with 2nd Division in the Masters Degree but holding Higher Degree i.e. M.Phil, PhD or Equivalent Degree with 18 Years of Education may be considered. NOTES: 1) All those applying for the Post of Assistant Professor and Lecture (Excluding In-Service Regular Teachers of the University & such Candidates holding PhD Degree in the relevant field and subject respectively) are required to appear in NTS or University Test. Only Short Listed Candidates will be called for Interview and Presentation before the Selection Board. 2) Basic Degree in Pharmacy, i.e. B.Pharm or Pharm D is required to apply for any Post in any of the Department in the Faculty of Pharmacy. However, this condition does not apply to those who are already in Service in the Faculty of Pharmacy. 3) Basic Degree in Chemical Engineering i.e. (B.E./BS) and Pakistan Engineering Council registration is required for all positions in the Department of Chemical Engineering. 4) For the Department of Petroleum Technology 1 st Class M.Sc./B.E. (Petroleum Engg./Chemical Engg.) or BS (Petroleum Engg./Chemical Engineering) APPLICATION PROCEDURE: a) Applications are required to be submitted on prescribed Forms, obtainable from the Office of the Deputy Registrar (Establishment, Teaching), University of Karachi (First Floor, New Administration Building) on Payment of Rs 6007-through Pay Order in favour of University of Karachi. b) Six Copies of Application together with a Pay Order of Rs 1,400/- in favour of University of Karachi, for the Posts of Professor & Associate Professor and Three Copies of Application for the Post of Assistant Professor & Lecturer, Attested Photocopies of Marks Certificates/Degrees/ Diploma/Certificates, Experience Certificates, CNIC and Reprints of Publication, if any, must reach the Registrar, University of Karachi, University of Karachi, University Road, Karachi-75270 (Pakistan) on or before 2nd February 2015. The Last Date for Receipt of Applications in case of Pakistani Nationals serving/residing abroad is 17th February 2015. c) Candidates already in Government, Semi-Government and Autonomous Organizations in Pakistan must apply through Proper Channel within Due Date. d) Candidates requesting Application Forms by Post must send a Pay Order of Rs 700/- within Pakistan and Rs 1,500/-or Equivalent from Outside Pakistan, drawn in favour of Registrar, University of Karachi, Karachi, Pakistan along with their Written Request. e) Those applying for the Post of Lecturer/Assistant Professor must enclose Three Attested Passport Size Photographs along with their Applications. The Number of Posts shall be considered according to the available Position at the time of Selection.
