UNTOLD STORIES FROM THE WAR ZONE: ARE THESE OFFICERS THE BEST WE CAN HAVE IN THE FOREFRONT? Why are these same officers indicted in one case or the other continued to be in charge of the Operations in the crisis region? It was reliably gathered, from the inception of JTF, Operations BAYONA and 7 Div, some field officers continued to lobby their way from the Army Hqrtrs just to remain in the crisis region even after they were ordered to leave for studies or posted outside for the purpose of punishment. You may wish to be informed that the following were in-charge under various capacity: - Col. Danmadami was the Ops Officer, - Col. Obeleme was the Flush Comd., - Col. Nura was Ops Officer in 7 Div - Lt Col. Oron was the Sector 1 Comd. These fine Officers, at the course of their duty, were found wanting in various times of Military Operations which left the Army Hdqrs with no option than to issue directives to move them all out of the crisis zone particularly, Maiduguri. You may also wish to know from the record that Col. Danmadami was accused of pulling out Soldiers when they were at the middle of operations at Balabrin Garnam on 12 November, 2012. Precisely, they were arresting members of BH and recovering sophisticated arms, at a point when the then JTF Commandant placed a call to the Col. confirming the successful process of the ongoing operations, the Col. shouted on him who ordered you to do that, pull out, now. It was shocking to the Soldiers on ground, they complied but, later reported the issue. For Col. Oron, he was known for his extrajudicial killings, any suspect that comes his way, ones he raises his gun, he execute without investigations. When Col. Obeleme was the Operation Flush Commandant, he was accused of Negligence on duty and diversion of money meant for Soldiers Welfare. After a long break, he lobbied his way back and now, the same Col. Obeleme is the Acting Brigade Commander in Yola under 7DIV. Unfortunate to him again, he led the operation in Gwoza and was attacked in a village known as Liman Kara, where BH succeeded in collecting 2 (two) T55 (among the 6 most celebrated Armor Tanks purchased recently by the Federal Government). Col. Nura was said to be grossly indicted in the Giwa Barracks attack by Boko Haram. There are unpleasant details regarding his involvement in the March 14th attack. After investigation, the MP arrested him and took him to Abuja, after a while and now he is also back to the field. Another old officer in Maiduguri, Col. Hassan was the 212 Commander and Sector 4 Commander but, the People in the Area under his sector wrote to the JTF and commended his effort. In fact, in he is the 7DIV Gar Commander who led the recent operations to reclaim Dambuwa. HOW DO WE EXPECT THE SOLDIERS ON GROUND TO BE EFFECTIVE WHEN SUCH INDIVIDUAL OFFICERS ARE CONTROLLING THEM?
