[UPCOMING EVENTS] 17 Mar 2014 : Beaver Valley Curling Club - Beaver Valley Rocks Curling Event: The Beaver Valley Curling Club, a not for profit organization, is providing this correspondence to introduce an upcoming event “Beaver Valley Rocks”. Details at beavervalleycurling.org . From March 17th to March 22nd, The Beaver Valley Curling Club will be using our local community centre and arena as a delivery platform in order to develop and promote the sport of curling. Monday and Tuesday, the ice in the arena will be transformed into a five sheet curling rink by Darren Sinclair, a disciple of the legendary ice man Shorty Jenkins. The event will be mainly funded by sponsors, ticket sales and modest participatory charges. ($10 per participant) Wednesday-Saturday our event will function on two levels – the first being participatory. This will include curling clinics for those with special needs, youth, beginners, seniors and the community at large. On the spectator side of the event there will be a Signature Bonspiel Event, Saturday, March 22nd at 6 pm. It will feature one game with eight highly skilled curlers, provincial, worlds, and Olympic winners. Official opening to include local dignitaries and top curlers. Tickets for this event will be $20. A dance will follow at 8:30 pm with Bored of Education. Tickets $15. Our organization is seeking support from your group in any of the following ways: - To assist in the marketing of this event through your connections - To consider a sponsorship - To invite your members to an Open Jitney Style Game (could also be setup as an introduction to curling event) (40 participants per time slot) - To sponsor a teaching clinic within the event for either youth, those with special needs or seniors with instructors from the Ontario Curling Association Two (2) Hour “Learn to Curl Clinic” This clinic is a brief session for curlers who have never been on the ice before and want to feel what curling is all about. It is an ideal format to teach school students or for goups on how to deliver rocks safely. Included is a brief 2‐end game. The ratio of students to instructors is 8:1. $25/person For Clinic sponsorships and to register for a game contact Mike Hammond 519-599-2302 or [email protected] For General sponsorships and promotions contact Alex Maxwell am_natural@rogers Thank you for your consideration and looking forward to seeing you at this community event.
