Katlyn Marin, formerly of Oak Street in Nashua, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of her daughter Brielle Gage, according to New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster. Marin is accused of assaulting Brielle multiple times on or about Nov. 24 and Nov. 25. One neighbor says shes just thinking about Brielles family. I just pray for her family and her siblings because they have to live through it, Samantha Prejsnar said. The Attorney Generals Office made the announcement about Marins arrest Saturday following a lengthy investigation. The Nashua Police Department have been investigating the circumstances surrounding this case. They started the investigation at the time of the initial call and that is what they have been working on since, Jeffery Strelzin, senior assistant attorney general said. Police were called to the home at the end of November for a medical emergency. The paternal grandmother of Brielle provided a statement to News 9 shortly after the news broke out. Brielle was taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Another concerned neighbor weighed in on Saturdays news. ...disgusting that the system would let that happen because the kids were taken away once before and the mother and the boyfriend got him back, John Horton said. Five children were living in the home at the time. Nashua police say Marin and her boyfriend, 30-year-old Michael Rivera of Hudson, were arrested for allegedly abusing two boys. They should have dug deeper. They should have continued their investigation instead of letting it go, Horton said. My family and I are extremely relieved that Katlyn Marin has been arrested for my granddaughters murder. We wish to express our sincere thanks to the New Hampshire Attorney Generals Office and the Nashua Police Department for their hard work and determination during this investigation. I would specifically like to thank Joelle Wiggin and Detective Patrick Hannon for their support. We will continue to follow this case carefully until its conclusion. We hope that in the end, justice is truly served for my beautiful granddaughter, Brielle, who didnt deserve to die in such a horrific manner, Sharon Boucher said. The Attorney Generals Office tells News 9 no one else faces charges in the case. Marin is being held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections. Marin is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Nashua. Read more: wmur/news/nashua-mother-faces-murder-charge-in-3yearolds-death/30513078#ixzz3NpZ3q5af
