Montano, who “was uncooperative with detectives at this time,” was booked on a felony hit and run charge, the department said. His bail was set at $200,000 because he is considered to be a flight risk. Santa Ana police responded about 8 p.m. Thursday after receiving a report that a person was lying on the street and possibly injured at 1600 West Edinger Avue, according to the news release. When the officers arrived, they discovered a woman who was later identified as Gloria Sanchez, 21. She had sustained major trauma as a result of apparently been pushed or jumping from a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on the street. Near Sanchez, officers found her daughter, whose name was not released. Orange County Fire Authority personnel and paramedics transported the two victims to a hospital, where Sanchez later died of her injuries. The child remained hospitalized Saturday in stable condition, police said. Anyone with information in the case was urged to contact the Santa Ana Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 714-245-8390, or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS Read more: ktla/2013/11/02/woman-dies-after-being-ejected-from-vehicle-boyfriend-arrested/#ixzz2jcZc24EN
