UPDATE: 3:45 P.M PDT SATURDAY, SEPT. 21 Allegiant continues to work around the clock to address the situation involving the overhaul of emergency evacuation slides on its MD80 fleet. As of this update, Allegiant is now operating 22 fully compliant MD80 aircraft, along with its six B757 and three A319 aircraft. All of today’s regularly scheduled flights, including those rescheduled following yesterday’s disruptions, are expected to be completed as scheduled. Allegiant’s Sunday schedule will include a number of disruptions, including delays, rescheduled flights and subservice flights operated on behalf of Allegiant. Of 159 regularly scheduled Sunday flights, 16 flights will incur operational delays of 30 minutes to three hours; 22 flights will be rescheduled to operate on Monday, Sept. 23; 36 flights will be operated by contracted carriers on behalf of Allegiant; and two flights will be cancelled without reschedule. Any scheduled flights not listed at the above link will operate tomorrow either on time, delayed, or in partnership with a contracted carrier, and all passengers are asked to proceed to the airport and check in as normal. Any relevant updates will be provided at the airport. Allegiant has worked to contact and accommodate all passengers impacted by this disruption, and designated compensation will be attached to each customer profile.
