UPDATE (8/19): Its official: APRIL IS SMILING!!!!!!! It started out as a flat smile where she was just pulling the corners of her mouth up. But it has quickly turned into a warm, genuine, real smile, teeth and all showing! A definite answer to prayer :) Also in answer to prayer, she is gaining more control of her neck and head. She is now able to turn it from side to side. Slowly, but surely. She is initiating more and more movements in her therapies as well. Every day she gets a little bit stronger. She has also been moving her right leg and arm at times. She is getting better at eating and swallowing her pleasure foods too. And lastly, her storming is all but over. So much to be thankful for these past few weeks! Our biggest prayer concerns are 1) that her voice would come in. 2) That her tone would continue to break. It is lessening, and her serial casting seems to be working, but she still has a long way to go. Especially in her arms and fingers. A massage therapist visited today and that will prove to be very helpful with her tone. Avery has an appointment on Thursday in Kansas City to be cleared to go to school. He starts on Friday! Thanks, friends and family, for praying for Aprils needs, and for rejoicing with us when we find cause to!
