UPDATE(ANAMBRA PDP ENDORSES JONATHAN FOR 2015):The Peoples’ Democratic Party in Anambra state has reaffirmed support for President Goodluck Jonathan for the 2015 Presidential election. In a rally at Awka, the state chairman of the party, Prince Ken Emeakayi, also announced the end of the rancour and division that nearly consumed the state branch of the party and called for a collective effort towards taking over the state from the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, come November 16, in the governorship election. At the arrival of the Peoples’ Democratic Party leadership in Awka north local government area of Anambra state, a mammoth crowd welcomed the governorship candidate who had been embattled since his emergence as the flag bearer. The state chairman of the party assured the party members of the stability in the party in the state as the national body without doubt has upheld Mr. Tony Nwoye as the party’s candidate for the November 16 gubernatorial election. The governorship candidate, Tony Nwoye commended the president for his support in the conduct of the PDP Primary in the state and without whose effort, the congress would not have been a reality. It would be recalled that, the PDP primary for Anambra which was recently held began the drama of who the flagbearer for the party at the November 16th governorship election would be as it produced two PDP flagbearers,that is Andy Ubah for the Oguebego faction and Tony Nwoye for the Ken Emeakayi faction,which was later recognised by the PDP leadership. The PDP national working committee declared the Oguebego faction as as illegal faction, suspending key members of the faction.
