UPDATE: Alicia Joslin & I ARE OKAY!!!! Today has been beyond crazy & I was becoming absolutely desperate to try to find a way to get out of here!!!!! Just as I was beginning to go insane, I realized that we had a serious situation on our hands, as I identified several fellow guests who were in need of medications. I immediately compiled a list of critical meds: cardiac, anti-diabetics, & anti-convulsants. I got on the phone to reach out to anyone & everyone possible to get my hands on these medications, only to find that all pharmacies within walking distance are closed, & the Red Cross, emergency operations center, Mercy Hospital, & every other resource could only assist us if we were in a true medical emergency, not just trying to prevent one. I refused to give up & finally made some progress after contacting a pharmacy 20 minutes from here, who said they could help us, IF we could get there. Just as this happened, Carl Paladino (the politician) came walking through the doors. Little did I know, he owns this place, & he immediately went to bat for us. He dispatched a snowmobile to make the trip to the pharmacy & get these critical medications....AND he paid for them. The snowmobile has arrived & everyone in need has received a 5 day supply of their meds. & now, Carl has returned with 5 pizzas & other food to ensure that were all nourished!!!! So really, I wanna go home REAL BAD, but WERE OKAY! Thank you to everyone for your concern! Thank you to Zack, the pharmacist at Rite Aid on South Park & Colgate! Thank you Carl Paladino! & thank you to the staff & the rest of the guests who are stuck here with us!!!
