UPDATE: Bethany was up most of the night last night because she still thinks that her day is for sleeping and her night is for being awake... Shes a little backwards still. She nursed well though. Someone came around 3am and drew blood for lots of different tests they are doing to try and rule out different possible problems (things the immunology and allergy teams want to rule out). At around 9 the VAT team came and looked at Bethany to determine if they could put Bethanys PICC line in while in her room, or if they would have to wheel her off to another floor for the procedure. They ended up being able to do so in the room at around 10 and she did great, they gave her some pain medication to kinda help sedate her and kept giving her sucrose (sugar water basically) to keep her happy and calm. They got done in about 2 hours, which is supposedly pretty quick so that was a plus! While they worked on putting her PICC line in I was able to go take an infant CPR class that they offer here. It was wonderful and very helpful. I pray I never have to use what I learned but am much more confident knowing what to do if the need ever arises. I also got the information on where to buy the teaching video and hope to purchase that and have Bethanys Aunts and Uncles and anyone else related watch and learn how to do infant CPR! Cant hurt to know it! Bethany has eaten well and on a regular basis, she has some more peeling today but her face has cleared up alot and shes doing so much better!!! Dermatology and infectious disease have both been in today to check on her and dont have much new news to share accept that they want to keep her on antibiotics the full 14 days just in case regardless of how she looks. Ill post more news when I hear anything new.
