MEDIA RELEASE AGGRAVATED ASSAULT AT CANYON HIGH SCHOOL On November 12, 2013 at approximately 9:27 am, New Braunfels Police and Fire Department Emergency Medical Units were dispatched to Canyon High School, 1510 IH 35 N, New Braunfels, Texas for a teen male that was unconscious and bleeding from the face. Upon arrival officers discovered that a 15 year old male student had been assaulted. The victim was treated at the scene by EMS personnel and was airlifted to University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas with serious injuries. As a result of the investigation, officers learned that the suspect in the assault was another 15 year old male student. The juvenile suspect was detained by officers and has been charged with Aggravated Assault. The juvenile suspect was transported to the Guadalupe County Juvenile Detention Center. This incident is still under investigation by the New Braunfels Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit. Should the condition of the hospitalized victim change an updated media release will be sent.
