UPDATE: Dr. W (cardiac surgeon) wanted to rest Corwins heart for - TopicsExpress

UPDATE: Dr. W (cardiac surgeon) wanted to rest Corwins heart for a half hour before the trans-esophageal echo because he had been on bypass awhile and also because Dr. W had done some extra work on the Mitral valve. He also did significant work on the Tricuspid valve. After Corwins heart rested, the echo was performed, AND THE HEART FUNCTION LOOKS BEAUTIFUL! Thank you, Jesus!!! Dr. W is VERY PLEASED with the function of especially the Tricuspid valve, as he did so much work on it, which is what has added the extra time to Corwins surgical procedure today. They are removing the bypass cannulae now and then they will close. He is doing very well and we expect to see him between 4 p.m. and 4: 30 p.m. briefly as he is moved from OR to CICU. We will then wait another hour until he is settled in CICU before we can go in and be with him in his room. Our lovely nurse from Cardiology also came by to visit, and we are so thankful for you, Ms. P! You are a jewel! Thank you for your continued prayers as our sons chest is closed and he begins to recover and transition into his new heart function! The Cox Family
