UPDATE FROM THE CULTURE SUBCOM ON: 1) PREAMBLE 2) OJI EZINIHITTE, UDO 2015 3) COMPREHENSIVE LIST OF CULTURAL ACTIVITIES IN MBAISE 1)PREAMBLE Join me in once more congratulating our president & exco for the resolute leadership they are showing especially with respect to our constitution which can now be regarded as a working document. Please I urge us to go through it so that it can be officially adopted as soon as possible. I also want to suggest that when elections take place, the positions of President, Vice, & Treasurer (and perhaps others...president exco will decide) should not be subject to contest for now because these are the people that founded the group & have been doing the bulk of the work. 2) OJI EZINIHITTE, UDO 2015 Culture com made contact with ELODI NIGERIA, a communications & events management firm based in Owerri but currently operating from Udo autonomous community. Elodi Nigeria has pledged 5% of her fees for services rendered to Udo Peoples Assembly who has called upon Elodi to package a sponsorship proposal to attract support from MTN Nigeria for OJI EZINIHITTE coming up 1st Jan, 2015. The next edition of Oji Ezinihitte promises to be very exciting. Highlights will follow later. Hopefully, this pledged percentage will be paid before 3) COMPREHENSIVE LIST OF CULTURAL ACTIVITIES IN MBAISE We will need members help as we build a comprehensive list of all cultural activities in Mbaise Nation under the following headings (a) ACTIVITY TITLE, (b) HOST TOWN (c) DATE OF EVENT (d) FREQUENCY (e.g. annual or biannual), (e) KEY ORGANIZERS & THEIR CONTACTS, etc. This list will help us to make ourselves known to the various organizers & thereby facilitate future projects which we may embark on with them (e.g. organizers of the Iri Ji Mbaise now know us meaning that we are positioned to ensure that the carnival idea that was enthusiastically shared during our July meeting can take off next year (in addition to other possibilities that could also take place sooner than next year).
