*****UPDATE***** GOVERNOR CUOMO DEPLOYS FLOOD ASSISTANCE TEAMS TO MOHAWK VALLEY TO ACCEPT AP= PLICATIONS FOR FLOOD RECOVERY PROGRAM Trained Staff to assist with applications at four locations in the Mohawk V= alley this Sunday - Tuesday Program will provide recovery assistance for homeowners, renters, small bus= inesses and farms in counties hardest hit by recent flooding Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced he is deploying flood assistance t= eams to the Mohawk Valley to accept applications for the $16 million Mohawk= Valley and 2013 Upstate Flood Recovery Program. The program, which was lau= nched earlier this week, is intended to provide immediate recovery assistan= ce to victims of these floods and to address gaps in coverage for impacted = homeowners, renters, business owners and farmers in Herkimer, Madison, Mont= gomery, and Oneida Counties. =93Under the Mohawk Valley and 2013 Upstate Flood Recovery Program, the Sta= te is committing $16 million to ensure that hard hit business owners, rente= rs, farmers and homeowners have the financial assistance they need to recov= er damaged and destroyed homes and property,=94 Governor Cuomo said. =93I e= ncourage those affected in the Mohawk Valley to visit one of these four loc= ations to apply for assistance and speak with our state=92s representatives= for any questions.=94 This Sunday, July 21 through Tuesday, July 23, the Governor is deploying st= aff from the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS), New Yor= k State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR), and other state agencies to four= locations in the Mohawk Valley to provide eligible applicants with applica= tion assistance. Hours of operation at each location are: Sunday, July 21: 12:00 p.m. =96 5:00 p.m. Monday, July 22: 11:00 a.m. =96 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 23: 11:00 a.m. =96 8:00 p.m. Assistance will be available at these four locations: County of Oneida: New Hartford Volunteer Fire Department 4 Oxford Rd. Town of New Hartford County of Herkimer: Herkimer County Community College (HCCC) Robert McLaughlin College Center 100 Reservoir Road Village of Herkimer County of Madison: Oneida Recreation Center 217 Cedar Street City of Oneida County of Montgomery: Senior Center 204 Canal Street Village of Fort Plain Under the program, homeowners, small business owners, renters, and farmers = or farm operations located in the designated counties may be eligible to re= ceive grants, subject to the documentation of flood-related damage and unin= sured losses. Homeowners and renters may be eligible for up to $31,900 in a= ssistance. Small business owners and farmers or farm operations may be elig= ible for up to $50,000 in assistance. For homeowners, eligible costs include the repair and/or replacement of dam= age to roofs, windows, doors, siding, flooring, drywall, insulation, founda= tions, well and septic systems, electric systems, fuel tanks, heating and w= ater systems, and appliances, as well as remediation of environmental hazar= ds. For renters, eligible costs may include the repair/replacement of damag= e to personal property, including replacement of damaged or destroyed cloth= ing for family residing in the rental unit and replacement or repair of dam= aged or destroyed furniture. Homeowners whose properties were destroyed by = these floods may also be eligible for a buyout of their damaged property. For businesses, eligible costs include reimbursement for losses to inventor= y, equipment, materials, fixtures and furniture; as well as design, constru= ction, rehabilitation or reconstruction of flood damaged structures. For farms, funding is available for emergency funding to help with farm cap= ital repair and replacement needs. Affected homeowners, renters, businesses, and farms can also call the NYS F= lood Helpline at 1-888-769-7243 for information on how to receive assistanc= e under the Flood Recovery Program. The NYS Flood Helpline is available fro= m 8:00 a.m. =96 8:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and 10:00 a.m. =96 5:00 = p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The Flood Recovery Program is a coordinated effort by the NYS Department of= Homeland Security and Emergency Services (NYS DHSES), NYS Homes and Commun= ity Renewal (NYS HCR) and the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets (NY= S DAM).
