###UPDATE### Good afternoon Weather Watchers- One thing you can count on is CHANGE....and the Weather is definitely doing that in the next few days- lets focus on this afternoon into tonight. First off the potential for Severe Weather has increased further South and West - take a look at the newest outlook from the Storm Prediction Center. What tells the story of what is happening now is by taking a look at your sky. Recent weather balloons that have been sent up confirmed what you and I see and what the Satellite image tells us, no clouds. Why??? We are Capped at around 3400 ft- temperatures are warmer at 3400ft than they are here at the surface. That will change as the Low in Western KS begins to strengthen and starts to trek slowly to the Northeast. The Low in Western KS is strengthening in Western KS and looks like it will slow its Northeasterly trek. As the Low deepens and the Warm front sharpens along the KS/NE border the threat for a few Tornadoes has increased in the Northern half of the State and specifically along Hwy 36 corridor from Atwood East to the Missouri border. Help us keep an eye on the sky- let us know by taking pictures if you beginning seeing cumulus clouds forming - those are just the puffy cotton ball looking clouds. Definitely let us know if you begin to see those cumulus clouds form into Cumulonimbus or developing Thunderstorms. The last image posted is for Thursday- showing Heavy snow potential in Montana and Wyoming. Snow is also possible in Western Nebraska Thursday night into Friday- no accumulation expected. Lets watch these storms develop as the front approaches and as our surface Low strengthens. We will keep you posted- again, please help us by letting us know what you are seeing! Weather Watchers
