UPDATE: It turns out he has changed his perspective since this video was taped (about 10 years ago), alhamdulillah. Im keeping the video because the conversation in the comments below is actually a fruitful one. Its worth your time to read through them. Also, this clip is a good reference to see how far Sh. Yasir Qadhi has grown over the last decade. And that is the crux of it for me, because what I thoroughly respect about YQ (even if I still disagree with some of his views today) is that he is someone who is not stagnant in his thoughts about faith and philosophy. He is not afraid to grow, not afraid to absorb new information and different experiences, not afraid to say, I was wrong back then. That takes tremendous courage, self-knowledge and tawakkul and is something that ALL of us can learn from and emulate, regardless of where we stand on the ideology pendulum, inshallah. [-HM] So, this is from a few years ago. I know that YQ has experienced an evolution in some of his thoughts over the last 10 years.
