UPDATE ON ACCIDENT: Upton County Sheriffs Office has confirmed the accident on S Highway 349 involved 2 18-wheelers and a one ton pickup. One of the vehicles was carrying a backhoe. There has been an oil spill and crews are on scene cleaning it up. Newswest 9 was told that the crews will be out there for a while, so please avoid the area. Traffic is at a standstill in both directions. TX-DOT has been called out to help with traffic.
