UPDATE ON SHOOT OUT IN KNP Mark Friedrichs Rhino Poacher killed in Kruger Wildtuin. An alleged rhino poacher was killed in the Kruger National Park, was stated by the police in Limpopo today. Brig. Hangwani Mulaudzi , spokesman for the police said re the shoot out which broke out on Saturday between SANPark - rangers and three males . Those rangers had spotted the three men in Punda Maria and had ordered them to stop. The 3 men opened fire on the rangers who in turn returned fire. he reported . One man died instantly and a second man was injured in the knee and calf. The other suspect gave himself up and was arrested . A rifle,knife, axe and three cellphones were confiscated , According to Mulaudzi the man with the Mozambique nationality was wearing a Mozambican uniform while the other 2 wore SANPark - uniforms. The two suspects will be charged with attempt to rhino poaching, attempted murder , trespassing and carrying unlicensed firearm.
