UPDATE(SAMBO PAYS HOMAGE TO SANUSI):Vice president, Namadi Sambo swallows pride, pay homage to the new emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi II, Tuesday in his palace. The delayed public recognition by the number two citizen barely 4 months after the investiture of former Apex Governor as the emir of Kano was however made possible by the death of an influential Kano prince and Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Tijjani Hashim. Sambo arrived Kano on Monday as head of Federal government delegation to witness the funeral prayers of his late godfather lhaji Tijjani Hashim and shortly after paid a condolence to the new emir in accordance with tradition. The public recognition of Sanusi II by President Jonathan’s Deputy may have put to rest month of hostilities between the administration and the former CBN Governor. Security agents took over Kano palace last June shortly Kwankwaso announced Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the emir forcing him to operates from Government House Kano for a period of one week. However, prompt intervention by the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar resolved the difference that saw Sanusi II broke fast with Jonathan alongside top traditional ruler 3 months ago. Sambo while in the palace registered his condolence on behalf of the federal government and prayed for the repose of the deceased traditional ruler. The Vice president failed to display similar gesture to his host, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso who was seen with the number two man during and after the funeral prayers.
