Sandusky Township fire Chief Dean Schneider says the fire occurred inside the home at 2080 Christy Road owned by Mark and Stacy Reau. Both were home along with four children at the time of the fire and made it safely out of the fire before firefighters arrived at the scene. Homeowner Mark Reau told Chief Schneider had been using space heaters to heat the upstairs of the home and some fuses had blown about 20 minutes before the fire. The space heaters were turned off after the fuses were blown. About 20-minutes later, a burning smell was noticed inside the home. The fire was contained inside the walls of the home according to Chief Schneider. A thermal imaging camera used to put out the fire inside the walls. Chief Schneider valued the damages at $75,000 in fire damage and $25,000 in damage to contents. The house according to Chief Schneider was inhabitable with the family spending Tuesday night with family members.
