UPDATE : Theft of package from front door step-NORCO At the time of the original press release, the Norco Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the public to help identify the suspect who stole the package off the victim’s front door step. The public responded and numerous leads and tips were received. Several of the leads assisted in the investigation and ultimately led to the arrest of the suspect. On Tuesday September 30, 2014, Norco Sheriff Deputies from the Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving (COPPS) team, located and arrested Julie Whitaker in the 4000 block of Hillside Avenue, in the city of Norco. Whitaker was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center for theft. The Norco Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the public for their assistance. The Norco Sheriff’s Office is committed to the safety of the citizens of Norco and is vigilant in combating crime. Details: On Thursday, August 7, 2014, about 6:36 p.m., a Riverside County Sheriff’s Community Service Officer (CSO) investigated a reported theft,in the 4500 block of Center Avenue, in the City of Norco. The investigation revealed the following. The homeowner at the location had been expecting an Amazon package to be delivered to his residence. When the package appeared to be late, the homeowner checked with Amazon and learned the package had actually been delivered to his residence on Wednesday, August 6. The homeowner became suspicious regarding the whereabouts of the package and reviewed home video surveillance footage. The video showed that on Wednesday, August 6, about 1:05 p.m., a 2003-2005 white Honda Accord, four-door, with black wheels, arrived in the front driveway of the residence. A female passenger exited the vehicle, walked to the residence porch and grabbed the Amazon package. After grabbing the package, the female walked back to the passenger side of the vehicle, and got inside. The vehicle drove away from the location with the package inside. The suspect is described as a white female, approximately 25-30 years old, heavy-set, with long brown hair worn in a pony-tail. She was last seen wearing dark sunglasses, a green top and blue jeans. The female suspect and suspect vehicle can clearly be viewed in the photographs captured from the video surveillance below. Suveillance Photos The second suspect and driver of the vehicle remained inside of the vehicle and was not captured by the video surveillance.
