UPDATE and Praise Report Fox News Reports: Meriam Ibrahim, the Sudanese woman who was sentenced to death in May for allegedly converting from Islam to Christianity, has been freed. Ibrahim, 27, refused to renounce her Christian faith in court in May, prompting a judge to sentence her to hang for apostasy. Sudans national news service SUNA said the Court of Cassation in Khartoum on Monday canceled the death sentence and released Meriam. Thank you for praying!!! ECHOgram for Tuesday, June 24, 2014 Prayer for Imprisoned Christians A Sudanese woman who is Christian has been convicted of apostasy by a Sudanese court and will receive 100 lashes after she recovers from giving birth to her daughter this past week while shackled in prison. Her two year old son is also in prison with her. Her case is being appealed to the high court of Sudan and without international outrage and other Christians standing in the gap with prayer and intercession her sentence may not be revoked. Mariam and her children are American citizens through her marriage to her husband Daniel Wani. Perhaps our State Department may need to get involved and place pressure on the Sudanese government. Time is of the essence as their health is getting worse with time. Please stand in the gap and pray: Psalm 68:20-21 Our God is a God of salvation, and to God, the Lord, belong deliverances from death. But God will strike the heads of his enemies, the hairy crown of him who walks in his guilty ways. Psalm 36:33 The wicked watches for the righteous and seeks to put him to death. The Lord will not abandon him to his power or let him be condemned when he is brought to trial. Psalm 33:18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy. May the peace of God which passes all understanding keep Meriam in perfect peace. Matthew 10:28 Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. I have also been praying for Pastor Saeed, an American in Iran, also imprisoned for his faith. I know that persecution of Christians is at an all-time high. This is something we need to keep in mind as well when we pray. Please pray for all imprisoned Christians worldwide! Vera Paquin Prayer Ministry Parkway Apostolic Church Oakcreek, Wisconsin
