UPDATE on Rick: I know Im late with this, but I was BEYOND EXHAUSTED and not feeling very well due to all the stress yesterday----feeling much better now! Yesterday morning I got up at 4am to get ready to take Rick to the hospital for the heart cath. procedure after first dropping Maverick off at doggie daycare for the entire day at 6:15am (they came in 45 minutes early just for us, which of course were so very grateful for)! We were told to arrive at 7am----be on time----we were there 10 minutes early. They started an IV in Rick, gave him a valium, a benadryl and a baby aspirin. The procedure was scheduled for 9am, but a patient prior to Rick had all kinds of complications (which we felt bad about) and were told it would be bumped to 10am. A little before 11am his doctor came in to say she couldnt do it until 1pm because she had to attend clinic! It wasnt until 1:30 that they came back to the room to take Rick into the procedure room. About an hour later his doctor came out to tell me the AWESOME news that there were no blockages and everything looked really good----prayers answered for sure!! But because of the extra heart beats he would have to see another heart specialist next week----its scheduled for this coming Monday at 11:20am. We knew he had to lay on his back for 6 hours afterwards which put the time at 8pm.I had to drive back home to pick Maverick up by 6pm and take him home to further wear him out so I could put him in his kennel while I went back to pick-up Rick. It wasnt til 9pm that a nurse came to get him out of bed and walking to see how he would do and then we were told his blood pressure was too high and they would give him a blood pressure pill and come back and check it again in one hour!! By this time I lost it and started crying like a bad wife, but I felt like I was just going to pass out from exhaustion!! They let us finally leave at 11pm and we walked in the door at 11:40pm-----why didnt they just keep him overnight and save us so much stress and aggravation??? At any rate, were ECSTATIC with the outcome, but still mad the way everything was handled! More good news is the beautiful weather were having today through Saturday----mid 70s and sunny so we can spend time with the pup outside just relaxing and counting our blessings-----which of course include ALL OF YOU!!!! One last comment------THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for all the love, concern, prayers and support you have shown us during this latest crisis---YOU ARE INCREDIBLE and we LOVE YOU to infinity and beyond!!! XOXOXOXO
