UPDATE on the Oven/My throat #awesomefriends #terrificsupport The oven repairman came, had the wrong part, found out the right part is no longer available, and that was that. No Christmas cookies around here for us! Is this a blessing in disguise for my calorie intake and time management? lol My throat is exactly the same. The love and concern I received is such a blessing! I have loved hearing what people think it might be--you guys are almost as good as webmd! To recap, stress might be part of it, but Ive been working very hard--ironic, right?--to rest, drink a lot, nap, take my Sabbath, and try to minimize stress. Unfortunately, it is frowned upon to give kids away, so my stress level is almost as low as it can get. ;) As for allergies or panic attack, Ive never had allergies that do more than make my tongue itch, dont have an Epi-Pen or inhaler, etc. and the nurse I spoke with really didnt think my sympotm sounded like a panic attack. It doesnt seem that either of those scenarios would include the exact and sole symptom lasting 24 hours with no variation either. My leaning is that its some complication of my GERD. (Diagnosed 12-15 years ago, not sure, and have been on Prilosec or recently Zantec ever since.) No pain except that one time when I swallowed mid sob. (see previous status) Just pretend you have a thumb pressing into the side of your neck and impairing your breathing. Pressure/a presence, but not pain, yet you have to remind yourself that you CAN breathe. Which made sleeping a bit hard. Called the doctor. She was booked today so I asked if I could go straight to an ENT. They transferred me right away, but that office was booked out until Jan. something. I couldnt keep the teary sound away from my voice when I said,I just cant make it that long feeling like I cant breathe. I work from home; can I sit in your office working until you can fit me in? I dont care how long it takes. So Ill go in at 2:15 today. Praying they can tell what it is and fix it right away. I always have problems with my tonsils--though this is a lot lower in my neck, wouldnt it be great to have them taken out as part of the solution? Your support has greatly brightened my outlook.
