UPDATE on the rescued momma dog (and her puppies) featured on last weeks episode (11/23/13) of Pit Bulls and Parolees: Gizelle (momma) has been ADOPTED! BY ME! (Jill - caregiver @ CCCC) This sweet girl was brought to Crescent City Canine Cottage shortly after her pups were weaned. Once settled in, she began heart worm treatment, which starts with a 30 day regiment of antibiotics and continues with the actual treatment over the course of a few months. Well ... over those few months, Gizelle completely stole our hearts! She made it very clear she had chosen US as her new family and fit in so well with our two existing dogs (Kiko & Piper) that it was a done deal (at least in my heart) to keep her as our own. Just recently, Gizelle was cleared (medically) for adoption to the public and it was at that point we made it OFFICIAL! Some of her super sweet, super friendly puppies are still available for adoption, though! In fact, one of them (the one born with only one ear) will be taking up residence at CCCC in the very near future!
