UPDATES: France, UK & Ecuador have all summoned their ambassadors to leave Egypt. Denmark has cut off financial aid to Egyptian ($8.1 million) government. Death toll from yesterday is now over 700 people, more than 3,000 injured. More killed in Egypt than in Syria in the last 3 days. Many Coptic churches, businesses & homes burned. Brotherhood is not taking credit for this but claims this is done by police to make MB look bad. No one believes that. Most believe it was done by Islamists acting independently, without any police restraint (police did not protect any of the Coptic properties). Museum in Minya has been looted. No news about other antiquities, except that all sites are closed indefinitely. Some trouble at Alexandria Library, but no clear news other than some broken gift shop windows. 3 journalists killed, shot in heart and head, many more beaten up and equipment stolen by police. Press passes not being renewed for foreign journalists. Egyptian State TV is now only government propaganda - not showing any of the deaths from yesterday, but praising the police & military. Government says security will be stronger than before the Jan 2011 Revolution, emergency law back in place, military trials again, civil rights gone... curfew in place for now. So things are back to an even more repressive state than before the Jan 2011 revolution and the army is back in charge. Brotherhood vowing not to give up, so more violence to come. All things fought for in the Jan 2011 Revolution have been lost. El Barahdi has resigned because he did not want to held responsible for what the government is doing.
