☆¸.✿¸.•°*˜ UPDO ˜*°•.¸✿.¸☆ SHY & DELICATE...OUT OF TIME A staff member writes ~ ☆ So often there is a shy, delicate dog who cannot move at the pace required to show her true colors, make friends, and progress at a fast enough rate to have someone express interest in her. Updo is one the purest examples of one of those dogs. She is a composition of nerve endings and has been so since her arrival. Her bark remains anxious, she hopes her growl signals a warning. But this is all show as Updo allows leashing without much fuss: at first remaining frozen in the back of her kennel, then slowly crawling to the front, and popping out with a little tug. At 50 pounds, her body looks half that size as she cowers and trembles her way out the door. Updo almost curls into herself, trying to become as small as she can, to disappear almost. She is too nervous to do her business, too nervous to stop moving, too nervous to interact with anyone- human and dog alike. But she is trying her hardest to muster through. The sights, the sounds, everything is new and frightening. We can assume Updo has had little exposure to a world larger than the small one in which she was born. Perhaps she lived her whole short life in the company of someone who loved her. Perhaps not. But now Updo has to begin again and a shelter is the worst place for her. We will never know the real Updo given the debilitating fear shes exhibiting here. Updo needs a stable, quiet home with an experienced owner who can afford her the time and space to acclimate to her new surroundings at her own pace. She requires a slow, gentle approach. Imagine the joy youll both feel the first time you get a tentative smile, a lick, a tail wag. These are simple gestures for most dogs. For Updo these will be monumental. You can bet theres a puppy in there somewhere waiting to be discovered. I.D.
