URGENT APPEAL: RENOWNED TAMIL POET ARRESTED AND DETAINED -VIS Jayapalan Dear Sir, This letter is to bring your attention that Mr. VIS Jayapalan, a renowned Tamil poet, resident of Norway, who is on a personal trip to Sri Lanka to pay homage to his mother during her anniversary, has been unlawfully detained by Sri Lankan Authorities citing that he has violated visa rules. As Sri Lanka is known for abducting and killing people who raises voice against the Sri Lankan government on human rights issues. Jaya Palan, who is of from minority Tamil origin has been raising concerns about human rights violations when he was outside Sri Lanka. Now, while he was travelling to Sri Lanka he has been abducted.
