URGENT NEED TO STOP THE POLITICAL VENDETTA IN OUR STATE Recent political scenario in our state calls for immediate and urgent need to quench this politics of black mailing, chicaneries and to some extent subterfuges. Many of the scholars of politics of international standard made connotations and definations of politics. None of these scholars define it as a phenomenon of killing, maiming, vandalizing and character assassination. To bring to the fore, some of the meanings of politics given to those political philosophers will make more sence to the point of discussion. To start from, not more than five decades social thinker, Moa ze dong, looked at politics as war witout bloodshed while Harold Laswell said it is authoritative allocation of value and others that define the context, none of them saw it as a battle field ground. Our state (Nasarawa) was known as one of the peaceful political wise, but now the perception has slightly change to one of those state that are political volatile or full of political upheavals. To whom should we apportion the blame; here there are forces:- the government that allows it and the masses who perpetuate the government on its parts has to do everithing withing the ambit of the law to curtail the menace and the escalation of any political violence in the entirely of the state. One of measures that government has to employ could encompass the empowerment of youths which is the sin-quannon of the development of any society. Another problem that government of my state have to tacle is the issue of selective justice, that each member of the society should be treated equally when it comes to facing the law and order. One of the political scene, the government needs to know that vox pulpit is vox dei (that voice of the people is the voice of God) for that people should be given rightful ground to vote for the candidate of their choice at all the levels of governance. Since what we are doing is not exculpatory, then we have to look at the direction of the masses. The masses who have in their hands the power to change the government should resist any attempt by politicians to use them as tools for their selfish interest. A clarion call should be made to youth since they are the vanguard of change and the future leaders, to desist and resist unscrupulous attemtps by the money bags politicians to ferment trouble or political upheavals in their only inherited society. The question often asked by rational people in the society has being, if these politicians are really doing this to champion the cause of the massess, then where are their children or why are they not participating actively in the politics of vendetta. The basics respite to end these political fracas and trbal crisis in this state is to empower the youth, because of the fact that in every society where the youth are retire, that society will never have a cordial co-existence and it can never developed. One inportant issue that is also worthy of note is that the teeming populace of the state have to use in curtailing this issue of political fanaticism is pose question to ourselves as who are the perpetrators of these acts? To whom are they doing it to? For what are they doing it? Where are they doing it? And why are they doing it? If we can be able to answer these questions, there we can have a temporary solution to all these problems. Lest we forget the most important among all these claims of solutions is for us to retire to our various creeds and their teachings. It is only the rough that, we can have a vehement and lasting solution since non of our religious ethics encourage violence and confiscation of peoples right and mandate. Also, i urge the House of Assembly members of my dear state to sheld their sword by withdrawing the impeachment noticed for interest of peace in the state. Finally, my fervent hope and prayers for our dear state is for her to return to it past good of being the most conscious and peaceful state in the country. Comrade Suleiman Adams Ramalan.
