URGENT/TIME SENSITIVE PRAIRIE DOG PLACEMENT SITUATION - YOUR PROMPT ATTENTION NEEDED! LOCATION: Outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. Please help spread the word and feel free to share this announcement in various email communities and social networking channels and contact Gena Seaberg by PRIVATE MESSAGE ONLY or BY PHONE AT 425.870.1729 for more details! THANK YOU! Please meet Yogi. She is a 2010 unaltered female prairie dog. She is looking for a new forever home due to a significant life change for her current caretakers that is happening soon. Before these life changes have been progressively occurring, they spent a great deal of time with this little girl and feel now that they are doing a great disservice to her because their available time to spend with her now is minimal and that will get only worse in the months ahead with no foreseeable change in the future. So, they feel it is best that she gets the time, love, and attention she deserves where they know she will do best long term and live a happier and healthier life in a home with another female prairie dog which is just not feasible with the changes that are coming for their family. Right now Yogi is a bit moody due to rut, but has mostly been very sweet and manageable. This placement will be managed carefully to ensure that her future caretaker(s) are committed, loving, and knowledgeable about what it takes to be her forever home. She has no known health concerns. There is no fee for her placement and her caging, accessories, and a limited supply of her current diet will come with her to make her transition as smooth as possible. Behaviorally, as stated above, Yogi is a bit rutty but in the right atmosphere, she should calm down, right now she has triggering hormones that are making her act up. He is very lovable with the primary female caretaker. If the new person follows bathroom protocol correctly, she will adjust quickly and be the gem we know she is if in the right setting. She can be very sweet but will take one-on-one time to build a bond with a new caretaker. While she has had work done with her, Yogi will initially require consistent bathroom time one-on-one daily to form a close bond. Anyone taking her can expect a bit of behavioral regression as she adjusts and establishes new bonds with a new caretaker. I can assist with the bonding and any gradual integration process (if she happens to join any established prairie dogs in a home) once a strong caretaker bond is formed. Understand that this small regression is normal as she needs to establish trust again and that doesn’t happen overnight, but they all go through this process. Additionally, I’d also be available to partner with the nutritional migration that is required. She will NOT be placed in a mixed gender prairie dog home unless under special circumstance where the experience level of the owner warrants and/or where they could be separated if there are a pair of females to be in their own group for two separate groups as rut season approaches (e.g. two caging situations - a male group/female group). Further details can be discussed with interested parties directly through private message. I hope that together we can find her a great home and someone that will adore her and dedicate themselves to making sure she has a happy forever home. Please spread the word and accept my sincere gratitude to all that we can work together to find Yogi new adventures where she will be loved, healthy, and happy!!!!
