Job Title: Community Development Officer – Agriculture (based in Grand Bassa) Job Purpose: The post holder will work closely with programme staff and target communities and groups in Grand Bassa County and provide trainings and technical support in agriculture and other Income Generating Groups. S/he will monitor and supervise the implementation of all FIM programme activities including Farmers Field Schools (FFSs), Kitchen Gardens, Road access, and Community Savings Loan Associations (CSLAs) and other crossing cutting programme activities; Promote and facilitate exchange visits (training and visits- T & V approach) to enhance experiential learning (learning alliance) amongst extreme poor group members for replication; Facilitate the preparation of training materials and conduct workshops at community and district levels; Ensure compliance with all donor/Concern requirements and regulations; Closely work with staff and government counterparts and suggest linking the activities of the community with the relevant bureaus/bodies and develop partnership with grass root level stakeholders for the sustainability of programs. Essential Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, AA or equivalent in agriculture, economics, business administration or a related field; at least with 3 years job experience; firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, conceptual understanding of participatory approach and sustainable development; good communication skills, human relations, willingness to reside in rural areas (communities); basic computer skills, including Word and Excel and must be willing to learn new skills. The ability to speak local language (Kpelleh or Bassa) is a clear advantage.
