URGENTLY looking for FIT and COMMITTED cyclists willing to participate in a fantastic research study at the AUSTRALIAN INSTITUTE OF SPORT in Canberra, a unique opportunity. PLEASE SHARE. By urgently I mean being able to complete testing (VO2max) and familiarization trials this week at the Australian Catholic University in Melbourne and leave to Canberra on Friday 14th of November in the morning (~7-8 am) from Kew (my house). By fit I mean approximately a 5 min mean maximal power >5.3 W/kg, this is mid B grade or higher. By committed I mean that you are able to commit to all of what is required to complete the study (see details below). If interested read all the information below CAREFULLY before asking questions. A brief outline of what the study requirements: - The study is over the course of 2 weeks (three visits to the AIS). - Three (one every week) 120 km race simulation ‘time trials’ (with 1 and 4 km long efforts every 10 km) plus a ride to exhaustion at high intensity in a motorized treadmill on your own bike after each race simulation. - A total of 4 muscle biopsies will be taken over the course of 2 weeks and some blood samples taken to measure lactate during trials. - Each participant will be provided with a dietary supplement and a controlled diet 48 h before each trial. - Each participant receives $600 dollars for participating as well as a share of a $10,000 purse which is determined based on the weighted results of their performances in the TT and inclined ride. Other relevant information: - I am not a researcher for this awesome study, I will simply be a participant and I am just helping out colleagues to get participants. - We’ll be going to Canberra by car leaving from Kew and coming back after each trial. This is a total of 3 round trips to Canberra over the Course of three weeks. - You don’t have to pay accommodation over there but we would be sharing petrol costs for my car (and if you are kind, the driving). - The trials are scheduled to be on 17/11, 24/11 and 1/12. We are still doing some fine tuning on when it would require to be up in Canberra but it would be either the Friday or Sunday before each trial, except for the first trip which for sure is the Friday before the trial (14th of November). If you comply with all of the requirements and are looking forward to 3 weeks to of being submerged in the world of exercise physiology and nutrition research and cycling and have fun with this fantastic experience, send me a message over facebook or give me a call on 0416698494
