US National Weather Service Pittsburgh PA has issued a flood advisory for Allegheny County until 6:30 pm. Strong thunderstorms with very heavy downpours moving south across county. Potential for up to 1.5” of rain in less than 1 hour with frequent cloud to ground lightning. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels in small creeks and streams, as well as ponding of water in urban areas and on highways, streets, underpasses, other poor drainage areas & low-lying spots.
