US ambassador in Ghana, Mr. Gene A. Cretz, has lauded the partnership between DEM Ghana and the John Deere to distribute the John Deere range of building construction equipment, describing it as a win-win approach. Speaking at an exhibition and equipment demonstration day at the premises of DEM Ghana, Mr. Cretz said the partnership was a first step towards replicating the contribution which the company had made in the growth of the United States here in Ghana. “I can’t think of a better partnership in Ghana’s growing demand for infrastructural improvements than John Deere’s rugged and tested construction equipment. The John Deere brand and the quality products it represents has a history stretching to the early days of the US; working with farmers and construction professionals, John Deere has helped in building America,” he said. Mr Cretz said the DEM group was a company with a strong presence across Africa and long-term commitment towards Ghana. He said through its local partner, John Deere would be ensuring that the equipment used here in Ghana would receive the same service and support expected by its customers around the world. Mr. Cretz said the partnership between the American company and DEM Ghana transcended provision of high quality products, to building the capacities of local partners while expanding the market for US brands and technology in Africa. “Even now I know that Ghana-based staffs are currently in the US undergoing training that will allow this partnership to operate effectively and also provide post sales service. The skills and know-how the employees of the DEM group develop out of this relationship will benefit Ghana for years to come,” he said. John Deere, an American company was established 175 years ago and has worldwide presence with 55,000 employees in 35 countries. In 2011 it posted a net sales and revenue of $32 billion. The company deals in agricultural, forestry construction Anne turf equipment, with products including excavators, wheel loaders, crawlers, backhoes, trucks, tractor loaders and more.
